Z Modular Welcomes Two Industry Veterans to Its Business Development Team
CHICAGO (August 9, 2018) — Z Modular announced today that it has hired Christopher Schmidt as senior modular project executive and Chris Waters as director of business development. The two veterans have fifty years of combined experience working in modular and traditional construction roles. They will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing proposals, establishing project fees, overseeing projects, maintaining client relationships and attending industry conferences in their respective territories.
Christopher Schmidt has been working in the construction industry since the early 1990s, when he started his career as an architect with Harley Ellis Devereaux. His experience with modular construction began in 2011 at NORR, where he successfully grew the new modular construction division. In his most recent role, he served as regional business development manager at Guerdon Modular Buildings in northern California. Schmidt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from Lawrence Technological University. He will be based out of northern California.
Chris Waters has more than 25 years of modular and traditional construction experience in diverse sectors, including hospitality, multifamily housing, education, energy, retail and government. In his most recent role, Waters served as director of business development for Champion Commercial Structures. During his tenure there, he was responsible for spearheading modular solutions for the hospitality market. Waters holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Bentley University. He will be based out of Philadelphia.
